Gentry, Fred G., age 90 of Kettering peacefully passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Trinity Community of Beavercreek. He was preceded in death by his parents Nellie and John A. Gentry; siblings Kenneth Gentry (Pauline), Roseannell Crabtree (Paul), Estele Gailbreath (Tom), and Adelle Cason (Ralph). Also preceded by his wife Rena Gentry; son Louie Fred Gentry; grandson Sean Ray Gentry; and nephew Eddie Gentry. He was preceded in death by his parents Nellie and John A. Gentry; siblings Kenneth Gentry (Pauline), Roseannell Crabtree (Paul), Estele Gailbreath (Tom), and Adelle Cason (Ralph). Also preceded by his wife Rena Gentry; son Louie Fred Gentry; grandson Sean Ray Gentry; and nephew Eddie Gentry. Fred is survived by his daughter Brenda Smith (Joseph); son Glenn Gentry (Roslyn); 7 grandchildren: Regina Hoyt, Sabrina Dawson, Carisa Paavola, Rebecca Venemen, Tony Koerner, John Gentry, and Cassia Koerner; 9 great-grandchildren: Sean Banks, Zachary Dawson, Dylan Ross, Dalton Dawson, Brian Haddix, Sierra Dawson, Jacob Gentry, Edward Gentry, and Caden Paavola; 3 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Fred was a WWII veteran of the US Army and rejoined with the AirForce. He retired from GM as a Stationary Engineer, and was a founding member of the Belmont Church of Christ. Fred enjoyed playing the guitar and was an avid country music fan, but above all he cherished his time spent with his family. Funeral Service will be held at 11AM, Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Tobias Funeral Home, Belmont Chapel. Burial to follow at David's Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 10AM until the time of service Wednesday.
